                                 The Department of History, established in the year 1975, had its nomenclature changed to " Department of History and Tourism" in June 2004. Due to widening of the epicenter of the Course, tourism related papers have been offered at the Core level. The department maintains a Museum. Students taking estempages and collections from archaeological sites are worth mentioning field work. UGC funded Certificate course in ‘ Human Rights Duties and Education’ has been offered by the department."Travel Agency" a career oriented course has been approved and an amount of 7 lakhs has been sanctioned by UGC under XI plan.
