                     The UG Course was started in 1971-72 and PG (Self Finance) was started in 2009. The department offers innovative papers such as English for Media Writing, Teaching of English, Principles of Translation and English for Competitive examination. Each aspect of Effective Communication is offered as elective paper. The department prepares the study materials for Part II English and also for special papers. The department offers training in Soft Skills with experts. Dr.C. Rajeshwari is an approved guide of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University.
