In an era when nations are marching from serfdom to freedom it would be anachronistic and a sad commentary on our hoary civilization if our women are not restored to their rightful and honoured place in society. History is replete with instances to prove that women in the Vedic age were accorded parity of status with men in every respect especially in the educational field Manu, the law giver declares that "Daughters should be supported and educated with as much care and attention as the sons." Again in emphasizing the higher status of mother in our society he said that one Acharya excels ten Upadhyayas in glory, a father excels hundred Acharyas and one mother excels even thousand fathers in glory.

Through many parents today fondly cherish the desire to treat girls on par with boys right guaranteed by our constitution itself. The congenial soil to implant such ideas is simply absent in most places. We should all be proud of our institution which is the offspring of the dedication and labors of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment board.

The woodland scenery and its riparian situation sanctified by the famous temple of courtallanather can not fail to attract persons from various corners of Tamil Nadu.

Sri Parasakthi College for Women, was started in 1964. This is the first and the only rural women's college which earned autonomous status in our country min the year 1978.

The College introduces Choice Based Credit System for all U.G.courses from the academic year 2005 - 2006.
